Disclaimer: I wrote this text. Teachers differ as to what they want their students to do after first year Greek. Some want to go slowly through a smaller number of passages and get into exegesis and intermediate grammar. Others want them to read lots of material. I tend to fall closer to the later.

I first thought of creating a graded reader for Greek when I came across some old English graded readers that our grandparents used to use in grade school. I developed it over the years in my second and third year Greek class. There are 20 chapters, 18 from the New Testament; 1 from the Psalms, ad 1 from the Didache. Each passage has the text and grammatical helps (including rare vocabulary).

When my Basics of Biblical Greek started to gain popularity, I saw the need for an intermediate grammar. I wanted one that was excellent, but I also wanted one that my grammar could flow into. One of the most frustrating aspects to my experience in second year Greek was having to relearn so many things from first year. I didn't want my students to have those same issues.

This is a slightly toned-down version of Dan's main grammar, Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics. Some of the more obscur discussions have been removed as have the exegetical discussion. The later are so helpful, however, that I strongly recommend you buy the full grammar. However, if it is too daunting, this book is a good place to start, and you can with ease move up into Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics.
